Hayes & Yeading started off the pre-season campaign, after a break in excess of six months due to the coronavirus pandemic, with a resounding 4-1 victory on the 3G over Westfield, avenging the 0-2 reverse in the same fixture last pre-season.
United got off to a flyer with last season's top scorer Francis Amartey slotting the ball home neatly in just the seventh minute after receiving the ball from Trialist Yahya Bamba who had won possession well on the righthand side.
A minute later it was almost two when Moses Emmanuel won possession in the Westfield box, he fed the ball to Jamie Hanlon on the edge but his curling effort was just wide of the visitors upright.
Ten minutes later Emmanuel went close when he met a Jordan Norville-Williams centre but his header went the wrong side of the post and just over the half hour mark at the other end Jack Smith was called into action when the visitors broke through on goal but the United stopper was quickly off his line to block the effort away.
The 39th minute saw United fire in a deserved second as Hanlon collected the ball just outside the area and guided a perfect shot into the bottom corner of the Westfield net.
Scorers Amartey and Hanlon both had a chance to increase the lead before the break, Amartey's rushed shot was pushed aside by the visiting 'keeper while Hanlon collected a pass over the top of the visiting defence but his shot went across the 'keeper and just wide of the far post.
United made nine changes at the break with eight further trialists called into action and four minutes in trialist Mohamed El Masry in the United goal could not hold the ball as it came into the box and when the loose ball ran to a Westfield player, he coolly stroked the ball home from the edge of the box to reduce the deficit.
United's stopper redeamed himself somewhat on 73 minutes though when the visitors won possession in the United area, El Masry blocking out the original shot and then quickly gathering the loose ball as it bounced back in the direction of the United goal.
Two cool strikes in five minutes from United's trialist striker Afolabi Soyemi-Ololade, saw the margin of victory grow. On 80 minutes trialist Showkat Tahir cut out a pass in the Westfield half before feeding the ball to Soyemi-Ololade who calmly slotted the ball into the far corner from just inside the area.
Five minutes later he repeated the feat from a similar position with the exact same result, slotting the ball past the 'keeper into the far corner.
The final chance of the game went the way of the visitors with a couple of minutes remaining when a drive hit on the run inside the United area was palmed away by El masry and the game ended with a 4-1 scoreline.
