After a blistering first three months of the season, Hayes & Yeading will be glad to see the back of the month of November where United have departed from all four cup competitions however still remain very much in the title race at this pre-Christmas stage.
A slow start to the game with the first real effort on goal coming in the 18th minute when Hassan Jalloh picked up a loose ball in the middle of the park and hit a shot from 30 yards that beat Jacob Adams in the Casuals goal only to smack back off the upright.
United continued to push for the opener and a few minutes later new signing Kadell Daniel crossed from the left, Jalloh let the ball run through to Francis Amartey who fired just the wrong side of the hosts goal.
On 24 minutes the hosts had their first serious chance when Gabriel Odunaike collected the ball close to the United goal, his effort being blocked wide at close range by the quick moevment of 'keeper Ravan Constable.
The hosts then took the lead in the 39th minute as former United man Rohdell Gordon raced onto a long ball through the middle before slotting coolly past Constable.
As the break approached United went close again on more than one occasion. A superb throughball from Jordan Norville-Williams set Amartey on his way only for Adams to turn his effort around the post and from the resultant corner Adams again denied United, this time tipping a Moses Emmanuel header over the top.
The last chance of the half fell to Daniel who after being upended on the edge of the Walton box, he dusted himself down and took the free-kick with his effort going just the wrong side of the post and the two sides went in at the break with the hosts holding a slender one goal advantage.
With the advantage of the wind after the break, United started well, Amartey was denied an early shot at goal by some good defensive work by the home side while Daniel again went close as his shot just cleared the crossbar. Emmanuel was close to connecting with a free-kick fired in from the left and Amartey ghosted past his marker only to fire wide of the target.
On the hour Constable was again required to keep the deficit to one, the stopper returning from injury diving sharply to his left to deny Walton who burst through on the counter attack.
Seven minutes later United were deservedly level as a Daniel corner kick evaded everybody and flew straight into the Casuals net.
It was not long sadly though before the home side were back ahead, Constable saved well only for the loose ball to fall to Ogunaike who fired the home side back into the lead.
United continued to look for a second equaliser. A neat exchange between Amartey and Jack Williams set up a shooting chance for under 18s skipper Romey Meoded but he was foiled by Adams and with no further close shaves, it was Walton who progresssed and we wish them well for the remainder of the competition.
