1st Team Match Report

HYUFC Hayes & Yeading Utd 1
Hemel Hempstead T. 4
Hayes & Yeading's first outing of the pre-season campaign saw us take on National South side Hemel Hempstead Town on the 3G in 2two 1 hour matches.

United's stopper Danny Boness was in action quickly early on, firstly a Charlie Sheringham header from two yarsd came back off the post and this was quickly followed by Boness pushing out a David Moyo drive that struck Sheringham and shot over the bar.

Boness then saved again with an outstretched leg as the visitors carved their way through United's defence seemingly at will, it was however not the Tudors first pre-season outing so not overly surprising.

Tudors sstriker Moyo then struck twice in as many minutes, collecting a route one ball and firing low past Boness before collecting the ball on the right of the box and lofting the ball over the UNited 'keeper who got a hand to the effort but it was not strong enough to take the ball over and it dropped in the net.

Boness again saved well in the 25th minute only for the loose ball to be tucked home by Sheringham from close range.

United's few chances of the half saw the best come just before the break when an Ismael Ehui shot struck the hand of a defender in the box but United's appeals were turned away, something the Tudors were to experience in the second period.

Early in the second period Boness again denied Moyo, this time blocking his angled drive away with an outstretched leg before the visitors hit a fourth after United were caught in possession and Alex Osborn fired into the vacant net.

United finally got on the scoresheet with a well craft goal midway through the second period when Manny Duku collected the ball on the right, he fed it square to Ehui who helped it on to Josh Chamberlain who fired home from 20 yards.

Two more chances came along before the end, Ehui received the ball again from Duku and forced a save from the visiting 'keeper before an unmarked Sheringham headed wide from six yards at the other end.
