Our final five players to be announced, are as below. First up this time is #15 winger Roger James who returns for a full season having joined from North Leigh part-way through the last campaign, chipping in with some vital goals from the middle of the park. At #16 we have central defender Josh Lelan who also joined part-way through last season and returns looking to earn a regular starting position in Ritchie Hanlon's back four. At #17 we find the midfield workhorse in the shape of Amos Nasha who returns for a fourth season with United. At #18 we welcome back Taylor Miles, a tenacious midfielder who joined United at the start of the last campaign and soon proved to be a vital cog in the United midfield. At #19 it's young prospect Steve Ngunga who played a couple of games at the start of last season before going out on dual registration, returning for the final two games and now returns looking to push for a regular place in the United side. And that's it for now.
And four more make it a full dozen as further squad members are announced. First up this time is #10 and it's a return from last season for striker Adam Liddle whose pace and tenacity endeared him to the United fans. At #11 we have Hassan Jalloh, a free scoring midfielder who will be looking to get amongst the goals once more this season. At #13 we find goalkeeper Simon Grant who arrived late last season and will this season be competing with Jack Smith for the starting berth between the sticks. At #14 it is last seasons Mr Versatile Paul Field who returns for a second season with United having grown into the side throughout the last campaign. Five more to come, same time tomorrow.
As promised squad numbers 5 to 8 have been announced today and this again sees three retained from last years squad plus a midfielder returns after a season away. First up this time is #5 and central defender Tarik Moore-Azille who came in last season from Hendon and strengthened the heart of the United defence. At #6 we have British Virgin Islands international Jerry Wiltshire who returned from a lengthy injury towards the end of the last campaign and from central defence scored a brace as United picked up a first Middlesex Senior Cup. At #7 we find exciting prospect Jamie Hanlon who after suffering an injury that kept him sidelined for over 12 months is back this season looking to really put his stamp on a regular place. At #8 it is a warm welcome back to United for attacking midfielder Omar Rowe who returns after a season with Farnborough although he spent half of that time on loan at Chesham United. More to come, same time tomorrow.
Tim Fuell has today advised that he is hoping to be able to continue sending payment links out for those who have requested season tickets in the near future. Unfortunately the problem lies with our third party supplier and he is trying on a daily basis to get them to sort it out but as we all know "call centres" are not the most helpful at times. So, apologies for the delays but rest assured your applications are with the club and the early bird prices remain guaranteed.
As promised squad numbers 1 to 4 have been announced today and this sees three retained from last years squad plus a return for a popular left-back. First up is #1 and goalkeeper Jack Smith who having returned from more than twelve months out injured at the back end of last season signs up for the new campaign looking for an injury free season between the sticks. At #2 we have versatile right sided wide player Cole Brown who is another returning and hoping for a full injury free campaign. At #3 it is a welcome return to left-back Jack Williams who should add solidity and quality to the United defence. At #4 it is United's defensive rock Sanmi Odelusi who has signed on for another campaign at the SKYex. More to come, same time tomorrow.
With the new season approaching all too quickly, we will be releasing player news each evening around 7pm. Players that have committed to signing for the club once the registration window opens will be broadcast. For the first time for many years, players will be allocated squad numbers between 1 and 20, and they will wear that number in any game they play. We’ll start this evening with squad numbers 1 through to 4 so keep an eye on the clubs Twitter feed and here on the club website.
All at Hayes & Yeading were saddened this morning to hear that Bob, one of our regular matchday stewards, has regretably passed away. On behalf of all at the club I send our deepest sympathies to Bob's family and friends at this very sad time, may he rest in eternal peace.
Following an approach from Billericay Town, and an offer that met the clubs valuation, Moses Emmanuel has today agreed terms to sign for them. We wish Moses well at his new club, and manager Ritchie Hanlon continues his task of building a squad that continues to challenge for promotion to the National League.
