Match Postponed

With the freeze continuing and snow having fallen overnight, Hayes & Yeading's home fixture scheduled for Tuesday evening against Merthyr Town at the SKYex has been postponed.

A new date will be advised once agreed between the two clubs and the Southern Football League.

Match Abandoned

The best efforts of General Manager Derrick Matthews to get the pitch into a condition where the game could take place were initially rewarded with referee Bolland deeming the surface playable on inspection at 1:45pm and the game commenced on schedule at 3pm.

Sadly by the break areas of the playing surface re-froze and the ground became harder and somewhat slippery, subsequently the referee's decision after discussion with both clubs management was to abandon the game for the safety of the players.

A new date will be advised once agreed between the two clubs and the Southern Football League.

With great sadness

The Club have today been advised of the very sad passing yesterday of long time supporter and club photographer Ray Peploe.

Ray was very passionate in his support for both Hayes FC and latterly Hayes & Yeading United where he served for many years as official club photographer of both clubs before poor health led to him downing his lens.

His support for "his" club never waned and I am proud to have known him personally as a friend for more years than I can remember.

On behalf of myself and all at Hayes & Yeading United we offer our sincere condolences to his wife Janice and all of the Peploe family.
