Staines Town Previewed
Tuesday’s match is the 6th meeting between the two teams. Staines Town are 3-1 up in wins, with the other match being a draw. Staines have scored 11 times and United 8. The two teams are due to meet again at Wheatsheaf Park on March 16th, 2013.
If selected, Brandon Hall, Shannon Jesson and Mitchell Parker will be making their debuts for United in this match. If selected, Staines defender Lewis Ferrell will be playing against his former club. Other players to have represented both sides include Alex Duffy, Toby Little, Delroy Preddie and Adam Thompson. Duffy’s only United appearance was against Staines. This is also the case for Chris Baker, Abdou El Kholti, George Isaac, Abdula Nsubuga, Franck Padovani and Kraig Rochester. Current United player Daniel Wishart also made his United debut against Staines. Other players to do so are Kyle Fraser-Allen and Nathan Webb.
On October 2nd 2010, United lost 1-2 at Kettering Town. http://www.hyufc.com/teams/1011reports/Kettering_away.html
United are looking to bounce back from a 1-3 away defeat at Eastleigh (Tobi Joseph with the goal), their second league defeat in a row following a 2-3 home defeat against Salisbury City where Luke Williams and Kudus Oyenuga got their goals. However, they won their FA Cup match in between, 3-2 at home to Heybridge (Oyenuga with 2 goals and Jerome Anderson with the other). Their last league win was a 1-0 victory at Dover Athletic (Joseph again the scorer). Staines beat Salisbury 3-2 at the weekend with goals from Darren Wheeler, Tony Garrod and Louie Theophanous. This followed a 2-0 win over Basingstoke Town (Scott Taylor and Reece Hall netting). However, prior to that, Staines were surprisingly knocked out of the FA Cup at home to Hastings United, losing 2-3 (Garrod and Wheeler scoring the goals).
United are 15th in the league with 2 wins and 2 defeats from their 4 home games, scoring 8 and conceding 7. 7th position is the highest possible placing for them after Tuesday’s game, 19th the lowest. Staines are still searching for their 1st away win of the season. They’ve drawn 2 and lost 2 so far, scoring 3 and conceding 5. Despite this, they are 9th in the league and could rise to 5th, but could also drop to 19th with a certain set of results.
Tom Cadmore is available after suspension for this match, and if selected, will stretch his own club record appearance total to 213 (currently 209+3). Both Pelé and Luke Williams have played every minute of the season so far for United. Oyenuga has started every game and Daniel Wishart every league game so far this season. Wishart has appeared in every game this season, as have John Goddard and Joseph.
Oyenuga is United’s top goalscorer this season with 7 goals, 5 in the league. Josh Scott holds the club record for most league goals in a season, 22 and most total goals in a season, 25. He also got the most career United goals, 40. Garrod is Staines’s top scorer with 5 (4 in the league).

Eastleigh Preview
Sunday’s match is the 7th meeting between the two teams, making Eastleigh, Hayes & Yeading United’s joint most common opponent alongside Hampton & Richmond Borough. United have won twice, Eastleigh 3 times and one match has ended in a draw. One feature of previous encounters is the volume of goals, with 15 scored by United and 13 by Eastleigh. United are scheduled to host Eastleigh on February 23rd 2013.
If selected, Shannon Jesson, Brandon Hall and Mitchell Parker will be making their debuts for United in this match. Philip Appiah, James Folkes, Will Hendry, Jefferson Louis and Staforde Palmer have represented both sides as well as current Eastleigh player, Dale Binns. Andre Costa made his United debut against Eastleigh, one of only two appearances for the club.
On September 29th 2007, United were held in their first FA Cup fixture, 2-2 at home by Herne Bay. Callum Scrivens made his United debut that day. http://www.hyufc.com/teams/0708reports/hernebayhomeFAC.html
On September 29th 2009, United lost to a late comeback by Kettering Town. http://www.hyufc.com/teams/0910reports/Kettering_home.html
United won their FA Cup match last week, 3-2 at home to Heybridge Swifts (Kudus Oyenuga with 2 goals and Jerome Anderson with the other). However, in the league, they are aiming to bounce back from a 2-3 home defeat against Salisbury City where Luke Williams and Oyenuga got their goals. Prior to that they beat Dover Athletic 1-0 away (Tobi Joseph scoring). Eastleigh have won both of the games they have played since Richard Hill took over as manager. Last time out, they knocked Farnborough out of the FA Cup, winning 2-1 with goals from Andy Forbes and Craig McAllister. Prior to that, they beat Maidenhead 4-2 in the league, with Moses Ademola, Osei Sankofa, Tom Jordan and Glen Southam scoring. This win ended a three match losing run.
United are 9th in the league with 1 win, 2 draws and a defeat from their four away games, scoring 5 and conceding 5. They could rise to 4th with a big enough goals swing but could also drop as far as 17th if results conspire totally against them. Eastleigh have 2 home wins, a draw and a defeat. They’ve scored 12 goals and conceded 9. They are 13th and could rise above United into 7th but could also possibly fall to 19th place.
Both Pelé and Luke Williams have played every minute of the season so far for United. Oyenuga has started every game and Daniel Wishart every league game so far this season. Tom Cadmore misses this game as he serves the last of a three match ban. Ryan O’Toole will miss out on a debut as he is also banned after a sending off for his previous team, Windsor. Wishart has appeared in every game this season, as have Mark Bentley, John Goddard and Joseph.
Oyenuga is United’s top goalscorer this season with 7 goals, 5 in the league. If selected, he will be aiming to score in a 3rd successive game. Josh Scott holds the club record for most league goals in a season, 22 and most total goals in a season, 25. He also got the most career United goals, 40. McAllister is Eastleigh’s top scorer with 5 (4 in the league).

Striker Joins
As already published elsewhere in advance of the signing being confirmed by the Conference, Nas Bashir has added to his attacking options with the arrival, from Combined Counties side Windsor, of striker Ryan O'Toole.
Ryan was top scorer at Stag Meadow last season with 43 goals and has an overall total of exactly a goal a game from his 50 appearances for Windsor.
Unfortunately Ryan is cup-tied for the FA Cup having played and scored for Windsor in the earlier rounds of the competition.
We welcome Ryan to United and hope the goals keep flowing.
