Club Statement
With much rumour and scaremongering being posted online and disappointingly published in newsprint, the club would like to re-assure all fans and interested parties that Hayes and Yeading United are well aware of the rules and regulations regarding ground regulations and their requirements for membership of the league and are working in line with pre-published dates for compliance having been in active dialogue with relevant parties throughout the season.
At the current time, the club are confident of being able to, not only commence season 2013/14 at the Sharda Glass Community Stadium in Beaconsfield Road, but to also to host a comprehensive programme of pre-season events. Much progress has been made recently in respect of off the field red-tape and the final phase of building is already underway.
However, the club is aware of league membership rules necessitating the need for firm arrangements to have a ground to suitable grading standards by 31st March for the season ahead. All at the club appreciate that that is fast approaching and that the new ground will not have time to be assessed in time for that ground-grading date. However, the club have always been aware of this and always sought to comply with League rules and ensure all potential scenarios were covered. In the absence of our own ground grading, alternative arrangements are already in place, to ensure a suitable groundshare situation is available and technically active to comply with league rules. Full details have already been lodged with the League well in advance of the deadline date and we awaiting ratification of the same.
This agreement will ensure Hayes and Yeading United Football Club will continue to be eligible for League membership next season, but the club also has every intention and desire of achieving a ground grading at the Sharda Glass Community Stadium ahead of the new season, to begin the season back in our own home.

Phil 'Spud' Spurden
The following message has been received from Phil's family in relation to his funeral next week.
For those of you wishing to join us to celebrate the life of our dad, the service will be held at St Mary's Church in Beaconsfield Old Town on Thursday 28th March at midday. The reception will follow at the Bellhouse Hotel in Beaconsfield where the family will join you after a private cremation.
We understand that people may wish to wear black for tradition or to pay their respects, but we would love it if you would also wear a splash of colour as we feel it is more fitting to dad and he would love that!
For those of you wishing to make a donation, the family have chosen Cancer Research, c/o Arnold Funeral Service, 32 Gregories Road, Beaconsfield, Bucks, HP9 1HQ.
All are welcome to celebrate the life of this amazing man.

With Deepest Sympathy
All at Hayes & Yeading United Football Club are filled with deep sadness and regret to announce the death of club stalwart and former Yeading F.C. Chairman Phillip Spurden.
Known to many across non-league football as 'Spud', Phil a former pupil of Yeading School, signed from Uxbridge for Yeading FC in 1968 as a goalkeeper with a larger than life appearance and personality. Making 159 appearances with 60 clean sheets and a single goal (from the penalty spot), he played a big part in the club's early on the field success before turning his attention to building the club off the field, taking the Chairman's role.
A builder by trade, along with fellow committee members in the early 1980s he physically helped build and finance The Warren stadium in Beaconsfield Road, Hayes.
In the years that followed he became one of the most popular and recognisable Chairmen in the local non-league scene. His dream of establishing the club as the dominant football force in Middlesex took a step nearer reality in 2007 when he spear-headed the merger with then local rivals Hayes FC to form the current Hayes & Yeading United FC.
While never holding an official title within the new club, Phil remained an essential cog in the club's quick success on the field, working closely with the first team management and retaining a strong relationship with the players.
In recent times, when not found 'behind the goal' that his side were attacking, he had overseen the current ground renovations on the site at Beaconsfield Road before ill-health limited his support from afar via text updates and regular telephone conversations with people across every area of the club.
A true gentleman who committed his life to his football club, he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him and everybody who ever had the pleasure to meet him.

Tom Collins loan extended
Stockport County have confirmed that striker Tom Collins can remain on loan with United until the end of the current campaign.
Tom has already started to rediscover his form with four goals in his six appearances back at United with hopefully more to come as the season closes out for Tony O'Driscoll's side.

Ton up for Wish
Congratulations to Daniel Wishart who has become only the fifth player to make 100 appearances for Hayes & Yeading United, courtesy of his late introduction from the bench at Truro City on Saturday.
Dan is a product of the Clubs successful F.E.D.O. scheme and is the first graduate to reach three figures for Hayes & Yeading.
